This style of patent leather monogram embossed bags are named Vernis as the French word for varnish is “vernis”. Vernis leather was introduced by Marc Jacobs in 1998. The leather is coated to give the bag a shiny look.
The bag is made of calfskin monogram embossed vernis leather. The bag features brass hardware, top zip closure, vachetta detail, and a matching red woven fabric interior with a slip pocket.
